About Kimberly
Seeing my students finish a piece of art, and being absolutely proud of it brings me the utmost joy. Everyone learns and grows at their own pace, and I do my best to are sure each lesson is planned out according to how my students learn and grow. Step by step, with clear instructions and not ever rushing or making anyone feel as though their art is lacking in anything. There is absolutely no messing up in art. Learning to build your art even when you think you've made a mistake, and turning that mistake into something wonderful, is a fantastic feeling.
I absolutely love art, and helping others learn and grow their own abilities. I am an elementary art teacher, and specialize working with younger kids but am always willing and able to expand into higher age groups. Drawing is a style of freedom, and I believe everyone should get the chance to experience see what styles of art they are more intuned with.
First I'll want to get to know my student. What do they know, and what don't they. And I build a lesson around what they're comfortable with. If they say they have never drawn anything before besides a doodle, I will start off with a more simplistic drawing lesson.
I have taken quite a few art courses. But I am also an Elementary art teacher. I currently teach K-2, but have taught up to grade 5.

I base everything off of their experience level. If they are a complete newbie, and don't know the media types I start with the basics. Each project is custom to them, so they don't get overwhelmed.
I am willing to work with all types. I currently professionally teach younger kids, but I have assisted with teens, adults and older adults as well.
Don't settle on the first one you see. As an artist, we all have a different way of drawing, coloring, and seeing. Each of our styles is unique, as is our way of teaching. But also, our way of learning is different. Some of us learned quicker, some learned in a harsher style and some a softer. Myself in particular, I learn as I teach, because im constantly wanting to evolve and grow, even now.
It is 2nd grade awards week coming up, and I had to pick my top students from each class to receive an art award. Going through and seeing these kids art styles develop and grow, and seeing which ones really have the heart for it is amazing.

Details
My pricing is typically based on how my student will do each session. I typically charge hourly, at a base rate. I bring my own supplies, and a create specific lessons for each student based off of theyre experience and knowledge. So I factor those into my rate as well.
