About Darren

Looking to improve your English? You have come to the right place!

Whatever your next step is in life, if you have dreams of traveling to an English speaking country or the perfect job awaits you, and improving your English is what will help you reach your goals, I would be thrilled to help you get there!

You are here because you want a little more help. Maybe your language learning apps or movie watching isn't enough anymore and you want some personalized help. Or, you have taken lessons in the past and found that this is a fantastic way for you to learn. That is great and you made an excellent choice!

My method of teaching consists of conversational style learning while keeping it fun and engaging. I try my best to create a comfortable atmosphere where we can get to know one another. That way, I learn your individual style and I cater my classes specifically towards your needs. You will leave every class feeling confident and wanting to learn more!

Once you schedule a trial lesson, I'll send you a comprehensive placement test which will show me exactly where your strengths and weaknesses are. During our lesson, we will discuss areas in which you struggle with and where you want to improve most. After our first lesson, I will create a lesson plan that suits your needs and that will help you improve. Even if you don't have another lesson with me, you will have a good understanding of what it is that you are needing to help you succeed!

So here is a little more about who I am. I love most independent sports like surfing, snowboarding, skateboarding, yoga, and running. I have been traveling off and on since I finished high school and plan to see as much of the world as possible while I can! My heart lives in a small town but I really like to visit big cities. Meeting new people is one of my favorite activities and I have so much fun talking and sharing stories! I could live off of pizza and tacos but I try to keep a healthy diet and I'm a sucker for movie marathons. :)

I enjoy working with all ages and all learner levels as each new student can bring a unique style to the table and helps challenge me as a teacher. I really hope to see you in my class and I hope that together we can bring you that much closer to becoming an all-star English speaker! Or at least, I'll have an opportunity to get to know an awesome person like you!

Watching people progress and succeed!

A strong passion for helping others lead me to become a teacher.

2 years of teaching experience

120 hour TEFL Certificate

5 years of training managing and lead hand (Carpentry)

1 year of coaching at a skateboarding school (all ages)

3 years of freelance and entrepreneurial business ownership
