About Rich
I love learning and I love helping others to learn. I studied English and Education in college and have a bachelors degree in education.
I love to read and I read as often as possible, everything from the classics to contemporary fiction to history. I am excellent at proofreading and at spelling.
I have a deep knowledge of history and the Bible. I have attended church all of my life, and I enjoy studying the Bible. I read and study historical nonfiction as well as historical fiction.
I taught English at junior high and high school levels for several years, and have substitute taught at all levels here in Alaska.
My father was a teacher, and I have wanted to be a teacher since high school. I attended Liberty University in Virginia for my Bachelors in Education with a concentration in English. I received my degree from their Online Program.

I have worked with all types of students from kindergarten to 12th grade. I have worked in all subjects, but I excel in English, History, and Bible.
I have worked with many ESL students from many countries. The Anchorage is one of the most diverse school districts in the United States. Only Honolulu is more diverse than Anchorage.
I specifically have worked with students from Korea, China, Japan, Thailand, Kenya, Nigeria, Russia, and Italy in my English classes. As a substitute teacher I have worked with students from all around the world.
I also spent four months teaching and tutoring English in Magadan, Russia.
