About Alexa

Being able to make a connection with a student is my favorite part of the job. I'm very patient by nature, and I try to be steady and consistent. There's no way you can learn if you don't feel safe, and I make sure I have the bond necessary for the student to feel comfortable being vulnerable enough to ask questions and advocate for themselves.

My favorite part about tutoring and teaching is watching a student grow more confident in themselves. Education is the key to a happy future, and is one of the best things we can do for ourselves. I love being able to empower students through knowledge, and help them understand themselves and the world better.

In school, it wasn't unusual for me to have a line of people waiting to ask me question about the work we were doing. I was able to explain objectives and concepts to my classmates in a way they could actually understand them. I also worked diligently with my high school debate team, and I was responsible for training all new teammates. I also held classes that taught kids how to do certain kinds of debate, and was responsible for making powerpoints for teaching argumentation.
