About Amanda
A & J Tutoring provides students with a practical and personalized tutoring service carried out at their conveninece. Before starting tutoring an assessment will done to get a understanding of the students strengths and weaknesses. Time is based on the family and students need. My passion is to express the love of learning through reading, writing, science and extra acitivites. I want to build the relationship with the students and help them through learning process.
I have been teaching kindergarten through 12th grade for the last 14 years. I have done tutoring, literature clubs and science club.

When working with a prospect, the most important aspect of the entire process is building a relationship with the family and the student. It is important to understand the students struggle and need and build confidence and success in their learning. It is important to meet with the student and parent to build an action plan that specializes in their needs and wants. As a team we come up with goals, implementation of those goals. The parent and student will recieve weekly progress reports on their progress to meeting their goals.
I have worked with preschool to 12th grade students in all subject areas. I have worked with students on IEP that are struggling in school on reading, writing and math. I also have had the opportunity to work with college students in reading, writing and science.
Make sure your teacher is passionate about teaching and listens to your needs and wants.
I have worked in Special Education for the last several years. I have the opportunity to work with students with all sorts disabilities and built their level education to the point they were able to exit special education services.
