About Brynn
I am a third year Journalism student who has held a passion for all things pertaining to English from a young age. I've been working as an English tutor for 3 years now and have taught students ages 12 to 18. I work with essay writing, grammar lessons, reading comprehension, and more. I prioritize creating an encouraging and supportive environment for my students to aid in their learning.
I began working as a peer-mentor in my early High School years, and quickly discovered a passion for helping students achieve their goals.
I have been studying Journalism for the past three years and have learned a great deal about writing, grammar, comprehension, and more pertaining to English. Additionally, I've worked as an English tutor for several years throughout my High School Education as well as during college.

When working with a new student, I like to meet with them (and the parents if requested) for an initial session to see what the student's goals are. Where are they now, and where would they like to be? We go over their preffered learning style, and I like to begin with some excersies to get a sense of what they need to work on, as well as the best way to engage with them. From then on, we make a plan about the sessions moving forward and what we are going to be learning together.
I've worked with students ranging from the ages of 12 to 18, each with their own strengths and weaknesses in different topics.
Be mindful of your learning style, and make sure whoever you work with is willing to teach you in ways that ensure your success.
For the past year, I have been working with a High School senior on her college applications, and she recently got into one of her top choices. It showed the power of our hard work, and I was very proud of our time together.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should think to themselves, "What is my goal?" Whether it be to pass a class, prepare for a test, or get into college, they should know what they are hoping to achieve with a teacher. This makes the journey to achieve that goal all the more clear both for the teacher and the student.
