About Sophie
Hello! My name is Sophie and I see that you're needing academic support in Reading, Writing, and/or Math. When I was a student, learning math didn't come easy to me, and with the help from a tutor who understood my learning style, she tended to my needs and helped me succeed. I'm here to do the same for you!
With a Masters degree in Elementary Education and three years of teaching under my belt, I'm eager to provide academic as well as social and emotional support to learners who feel stuck.

With the current state of communication, scheduling a Zoom meeting as a way to initially connect and get to know each other is preferrable. Building a trusting relationship through talking about interests, experiences (museum outings, camping trips, travel, etc.) and academic worries as a way to better engage the student is critical for successful and efficient tutoring sessions.
