About Aminata

Hello, my name is Aminata. It's a pleasure to meet you.

I am a college student interested in tutoring children grades 1-11. My services include assisting children in simple math and basic English skills for school readiness.

I do not teach college students. Please view my profile and feel free to reach out to me with any questions. Let's work together for a great future for youe child!

As an elder sister with 2 younger brothers and cousins, I have been the lead teacher and supporter for them when it comes to homework, classwork and overall general schooling. I realized that I have a passon for teaching. I break things down so that my students can understand the lesson to the best of their ability.

I get excited to see when my students can put what they learn into practice!

I started in high school when I became a teachers assistant. I helped my clasmate's English works such as proofreading, spelling and grammer.

From there, I assisted children of families and friends.

I was a math tutor in high school in 2016.

I was selected as an English and health facilitator in 2016.

About the lesson

Whenever I start with a new student, introduction is key. Being fond of their learning style works for me. I usually just go with whaterver they are currently learning in school. If parents allow, I play an icebreaker to get to know them more! If my students do not understand my teaching style, then they would lead the way. I would ask them what things their teacher instructed them to use for their work.

I have work with Hispanic students with little knowlwegde of English.

I have worked with students who are proficient in English.

I have worked with students in math from grades 1 to 12.

Be patient and pick a time schedule you think works best for you. Hire a teacher who is on time and ready to work with you. Hire someone who is flexible when it comes to learning with you.

I was selected to help the child of a friend in math studies in grade 8.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should see if parents are capable of affording a teacher.

Students should try to answer homework questions alone first before asking teacher for assitance. Always try first.

Students need to identify what subject of school they need most help in.
