About David

I am a premed student with a Bachelor's in Bio from Tufts University and Masters in Biophysics from Stonybrook. I specialize in GRE/SAT tutoring, as well as intro math and english/writing. Half of the battle comes from motivation to succeed. I want to make the children feel comfortable in a learning space help them to reach their milestones. I believe the key is to target the weak areas and set weekly and realistic goals in order to each the desired score on a test or desired performance. Goals must be realistic, and the student must put in the work that I assign. Together, we can achieve a much improved score and bring those grades up higher. I have worked with kids in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, visiting 3rd graders weekly while in college to help with school and extracurricular performance.

I have experienced the rigors of a Bachelor's of Biology at tufts University, taking premed classes while playing baseball. Furthermore, I now attend Stonybrook in a masters of Biophysics earning an exceptional GPA. I have scored high percentile on the GRE and SAT, and help your student with math, science, writing, english, spanish and many other subjects.

It is all worth when I can see the smile on a parent or child's face when they have achieved their goal or gotten a high score. Although I want to push my students to continuously improve, I have always had an interest in understanding the roadblocks and difficulties one may be face. I'd like to talk through these roadblocks and find a way to be better in the classroom.

We will first figure out the subject level and matter. Next, the age and level of class. Will there be a specific exam board and can we work towards. We will find out the areas in which the student is struggling.

We will talk of the student's past performance and grades, and areas that need to be improved.

Current working level (grades achieved) - this will allow you to prepare material based roughly at the right level of your student.

The student will understand that they can stop me at any time when they don't understand something, and that I want this to be a comfortable conversation between him and I

I may be tough if the student does not follow through on their assignments for the week, becaue if they are not putting in their end of the work, how can I help them?

In the end, I want to make sure I can relate to the student, whether it's through test booklets, video resources, practice exams, or just working through problems.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Think about which problems you are struggling through and why? If it is reading comprehension, are you perhaps reading slower than desired or not grapsing the main idea of the essay? If it is math, are you not seeing certain patterns and shortcuts that can be employed for specific problems? Where do you want to improve? What test would you like to ace?
