About Peter

Renaissance Tutoring offers a wide variety of literacy and learning skills to students of every grade level. Sessions are tailored to specific student needs, and are continually evaluated for student performance and progress tracking.

The most gratifying aspect of teaching is to see students gain a sense of themselves, and to gain confidence in their own capabilities. Some of my favorite moments teaching have been when students have ventured beyond their comfort zones and been surprised at their own abilities.

I have experience teaching high school philosophy, theology, and history, and middle school English.

All of the subjects I have taught rely heavily on literacy skills, textual analysis, and critical thinking.

About the lesson

I typically schedule a one-hour consultation session for the first meeting - so that I can work with the student on evaluating his/her needs - and then either one-hour or half-hour sessions, depending on the needs of the student.
