About Sophia
Hi, I'm Sophia! I am currently a fourth year undergraduate student at Loyola Univerisity Chicago pursuing a bachelors in international business and management. Post grad, I will be pursuing my masters in business administration. My love for education however goes beyond the classroom; in high school I was enrolled in honors english and became an english advisor/ tutor for my peers. English soon became one of my favorite subjects, and enjoyed learning from both my high school administrators as well as my literature, creative writing, and grammar professors in college.
Although I am fairly new to online tutoring, I am familar with working with children ages 12 and below through babysitting, coaching soccer, volunteering, and working as a summer camp counselor. I want to benefit the students I work with as much as possible, and therfore welcome ant resources or suggestions both parents and students can provide. I am flexible and easy to reach; feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
As mentioned previously, I've worked with children before in numerous different settings. As a summer camp counselor with The Littlest Tumor Foundation I managed children throughout the week and engaged them in different learning and participative activities. Many of these children were special needs and if any of them needed extra assistance, I was always there to help them understand the material and utlize their skills (ex. spelling, memorizing, reading, recreation, safety, confidence, etc.)
My teaching strengths include english (grammar, spelling, writing, reading, literature) and social studies (european and american history, geography).
