About Kimberly

Parents of distance learners: I can create lesson plans or additional practice to augment anything your school has or hasn't provided. I can also do short "parent tutoring" to help answer any questions you have and give you the skills to best help your student succeed.

I have over 5 years of experience tutoring Enlish, Reading, Lanaguage Arts, etc. I am almost done with a Masters in Elementary Education, with a Bachelors in Psychology. Tutoring and teaching are my passion because I love seeing the satisfaction someone gains when understand a concept they had been struggling with and achieve their goals.

I love seeing a student develop from disliking reading or only liking one genre to trying every genre and not being able to put a book down! Books are adventures in a compact carrying case, and I love sharing those adventures with as many people as possible!

Over 5 years experience at two different tutoring facilities and will be finishing a Masters in Elementary Education in a year.

About the lesson

Typically a student's first session or two are assessment sessions to gague where they stand with whatever their goal is. Once I understand where they are at, I develop a set of lesson plans and adjust as the student improves. The student drives progress and overall lesson choices, like what book to read/work on. When the student feels confident, we move on to the next goal.
