my process with working with any student, is to get to know their personalities, so that they can become more comfortable with expressing their difficulties.
I have worked with children with learning disabilities and children who just needs one on one learning.
When hiring a teacher. you should always pick someone your child can relate too. chose someone who has a passion and dedication to truly wanting to see your child succeed.
A parnet reached out to me in hopes to helping her son get better at reading. At school typical children teasing other children. This lowered my students confidence to want to read infront of his class. Working with him three times a week, I would give him assignment to practice, I would read first then have him read after e. We would make it fun and play games. This boost his confidence with reading infront of his class
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
The questions students should ask is how can you better help me in reading, what will I get from these sessions.
