About Zara

A college professor in training and proponent of higher-level education, I am excited to help students succeed in their K-12 classes in preparation for university. Teaching a curriculum requires more than simple memorization and completing assignments; critical thinking, comprehension, and analysis are important tools students must practice in order to understand topics thoroughly and build upon them. These skills are not only necessary for completing higher education courses but also for personal and professional experiences as well.

I have 6 years of community college and university education and am pursuing a Ph.D. in International Affairs. Having only tutored high school students and college peers during that time, I am excited to provide my knowledge, skill, and respect of learning styles to you and your student. I look forward to encouraging your success soon!

A proponent of social justice, I understand that education is the common solution to many of the societal issues we face and that it has the potential to create thoughtful, industrious, and inspired citizens of the world. I don't just tutor my students to get them out of public school and into a university-- I tutor them to become confident, lifelong students that are equipped to participate effectively in the global community.

English

My first meeting with a new student is a collaborative effort! Together we will discuss their learning style, outline how we will structure our time together, and set realistic goals. Although these activities can be subject to change over time, I find that clarifying our expectations yields better results.
