About Lisa

With 20+ years experience in education, I know how to break down material to make it understandable and engaging so that any student can master it. I have a degree in Education from Northwestern University and a Masters Degree in Education as well.

I believe that each student is a unique learner with a unique set of goals and needs. I will learn about your child’s testing aspirations, challenges, and successes to allow me to create a study plan suited for his/her needs.

When I work with students to prepare them for standardized tests, I focus on the material that will push their scores ahead. Additionally, my organization and at-home study systems improve student abilities throughout the week, better preparing them for their next tutoring session, and pushing them closer to their goal.

Every student has the potential to reach their goal

in the ACT/SAT. I can make this material accessible and engaging to teens. Watching the “aha” moments is incredibly rewarding.

I majored in education at Northwestern. I have worked in education for many years, mostly with teens. The kids continue to be the best part of my job.

Look for a tutor that will help you meet your individual goals and work with your particular learning needs. No test taker is the same, so a tutor should not approach each student in the same way.

I would so suggest hiring a tutor that provides you with assignments to complete in between tutoring sessions. You will increase your scores more rapidly and get more value out of your money spent.
