About Sierra
I have always been interested in teaching, even as a kindergartener. I started tutoring my peers back in high school, and I also have experience tutoring kintergardeners. So I have a broad experience in tutoring.
I had a 3.9 GPA in high school, and I am currently double majoring in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy, as well as Human Development and Family Studies with the aspiration of becoming a family attorney (deals with divorces, child custody, etc.). I am also minoring in Spanish and have been studying spanish for 8 years.
Furthermore, I worked as a Teacher's Aid in a kindergarten classroom for a year. I helped them learn how to read and write, etc.

Get to know their learning preferences, and use positive reinforcement while learning new skills or improving old ones.
The areas that I am strongest in are math and English. I took Calculus II last year, and I am very good at algebra. Furthermore, as a pre-law student, I am very good at English, and am open to looking over essays, giving advice to make essays stronger, etc.
When working with children at an elementary school level, getting them to be comfortable with working with me is part of my tutoring process. If they do not feel comfortable being taught by me, then they will not feel open enough to talk to me about what they are struggling with in their classes.
I have worked with high schoolers and elementary schoolers. But I am open to working with any age.
I have also worked at a summer camp for a summer, where I had to work with kindergarteners and teach them about nature and how to share toys, etc. So I am very comfortable with working with kids.
However, I am also very comfortable working on a high academic level with highschoolers. I was on the Dean's list last semester with a 4.0 GPA for the semester, so I am very capable of helping students who struggle in academically intensive areas.
