About Maya
I started teaching when I was in highschool. I would tutor my friends or students that were in grades below me that needed help!
Well I am currently taking a gap year off from university. However, I have an IBDP diploma in which I scored a 6/7 total in English A language and literature. Moreover, I also scored an overall 8 on my IELTS exam!

I personally feel like it's very important to introduce yourself in an uplifting manner, make the student feel welcome! Ask the student if they would like to introduce themselves or if they have any questions. Try to slowly break the ice with the student and make them feel comfortable
I have worked with many students including those with social anxiety and slow learners, it's key to stay patient and calm!
