About Garvan
Writing and reading are fundimental to success as a learner. I have 15 years experience as a high school English teacher, a college instructor, and a published writer. I also know how fruestrating life can be learning with a disibility. I have both ADHD and a mild case of dyslexia. However, I have BA in Literature from the University of Maryland, A Master of Education from the University of Maryland, and a MFA in Creative Writing and Pedagogy from Pine Manor College. Having learning obstacles need not be obstacles to learning.

Understanding a students needs and abilitiies, such as learning styles. I think importance should be placed on the duration of an individual's ability to absorb information at any given time. Some students work better in shorter sessions, because they can take in and retain knowledge better than having a longer, crampacked class.
