About Jasmine
Since 2017, I have been a certified tutor at my local university. I worked with students from high school to graduate school, in English, Psychology, and some history topics. I think that tutoring is not just about helping students learn new material, but about helping them believe in themselves.
I started tutoring at my University's Center for Student Success. In addition to tutoring, I gave presentations on APA style and worked with the disability office to give workshops on test-taking anxiety.
I have a Bachelor's in English Literature and Psychology, with a minor in History. I am also certified Level II Internationally with the College Reading and Learning Association.

For new students, I like to ask them to share their interests or their major, so that I can better tailor the session to them. When we start working on the assignment together, I make sure we both understand the assignment and figure out the teacher's expectations. Then, I ask what part of the assignment they're on and what they want help with, whether that's coming up with new ideas or needing an eye to review the finished product.
I have worked with all types of students! I have tutored teenagers in highschool and adults raising a family while getting their degree. I've helped non-native english speakers and student from different countries. I've worked with students with disabilities and tailored sessions to their specific needs. I've also tutored college freshmen and first-generation students. At the end of the day, no matter who my students are, it's my job to help them believe in themselves and gain confidence in their abilities!
Find someone who is compassionate and empathetic. You want someone who'll be able to shape the sessions towards your specific needs!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
