About Catherine Jissell
Tutorlings© was founded by myself in order to give students the opportunity to help themselves in any area they are struggling with. I love teaching my students how to stay organized for a better academic career.
I've been tutoring since 2014 as a high school sophomore and have fallen in love with teaching since! My passion is to be able to wake up every day and be able to help as many people as I can.
I have an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education and am planning on obtaining my bachelor's degree in Bilingual/Elementary Education K-8.
I attended community College and started my tutoring business shortly after. I am currently substitute teacher for various districts.
I went to a community college in which I took a few psychology classes that helped me understand how the human mind works. Taking an Educational Psychology course provided me with the skills and knowledge I need in order to be able to help students ranging from a classroom setting to a computer at home.

I believe young students learn best when they have a familiar structure to the lessons they are taught in the classroom. I like to find out what the student already knows and where they have "holes" in their knowledge so I can determine what to focus on.
I like to start with a discussion about goals for tutoring older students, high schoolers, and adults. Then I can recommend specific books and curricula that are best in helping them gain the skills they are most interested in.
I've worked students from Pre K to 12th grade.

I start off with a consultation which varies in prices ($25-$40) and then from there, I can assess the student's or person's needs to create a tutoring schedule.
