About Christopher

Hello. My name is Chris Barr and I specialize in English as a Second Language (ESL) tutoring, and Finance tutoring. I have a Bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska, and a Masters degree with a concentration in Finance from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. I am TEFL certified and fluent in Spanish. I previously lived in Colombia and worked in a private institution teaching English. I am a very patient tutor and can work with you at any speed. I look forward to hearing from you!

I have always had a passion for helping others and a love of learning.  If I don't learn something new, I feel that the day is wasted.  Teaching is very gratifying to me because I love seeing students enjoy themselves as they broaden their horizons and improve their knowledge base.

I have a Bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska and a Master's degree from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.  I am TEFL certified and have experience teaching First-Seventh grade students in Mexico at public schools.  I also have experience teaching adults at a private institution called American Schoolway in Medellin, Colombia.  I can also offer tutoring in Finance.  I have several years of work experience as a Financial Analyst at the Bellagio and am an active stock trader.

I would like to hear from you first regarding where you're currently at with your studies and where you'd like to get.  Perhaps you have a certain goal such as a proficiency level, obtaining a certain job, or passing a particular test.  Once I know your goal, we can come up with a plan to achieve it.  I have a lot of experience teaching students at all levels and I'm certain I can assist you in reaching your desired outcomes.

I've worked with children and adults as well.
