About Lisa
I have a BA in Political Science with a concentration in American Government and minor in Philosophy. I have a MS in Criminal Justice with a dual concentration in Federal Law Enforcement in Crime Intelligence Analysis. I have another MS in Psychology with a concentration in Child and Adolescent Development.
I worked as a tutor for A Tree of Knowledge Educational Services from August 2007 to February 2010. I specialized in Language Arts, but also instructed in mathematics and science. I worked as a tutor for Club Z in SAT English from November 2014-March 2015. I worked as a self-employed tutor in Language Arts, Reading, and Spelling for a family that I helped home school teach from March 2016-June 2019.
I have experience working with children and adolescents with mental and behavioral health diagnoses. I worked as a supervisor and program coordinator in two separate facilities, one from March 2010-February 2015 and March 2015-February 2016. I also worked as a behavioral specialist from April 2016-October 2017.
BA and two MS degrees
Tutored Language Arts, Science, and Mathematics for Los Angeles Unified School District and home school students within that district, grades Pre-K through 12th (8/2007-2/2010)
Tutored in SAT Prep for Club Z Tutoring (11/2014-3/2015)
Taught Language Arts, Reading, and Spelling to a family of three kids that were home schooled (3/2016-6/2019)
Worked in Mental and Behavioral Health as a supervisor and program coordinator for children and adolescents (3/2010-2/2016); Worked as a Behavioral Specialist in the home, community, and school setting often times contributing to the creation of a client's IEP (4/2016-10/2017).

I will ask the student and parent(s) questions regarding methods that help with learning. I will tailor the educational plan and tutoring to meet that specific educational needs.
