About Emily
Hi! My name is Emily and I would be delighted to work with your child over the summer. Education is my passion, especially math and literacy instruction.
As a unified education major, I have knowledge and experience working with students who have diverse educational needs. I am passionate about finding ways to tailor instruction to a student's particular learning needs by incorporating personal interests and capitalizing on their individual strengths.
As an individual who is diagnosed with ADHD, I not only have the professional knowledge required to meet the needs of diverse students, I also have a personal understanding of the lived experience of the challenges learning can bring and how to overcome them.
I am expecting to graduate from Pittsburg State University in December of 2021 with a BsEd in Elementary Education Unified (K-6) and I have passed all of the exams required for licensure in Kansas.
I love seeing my students' confidence blossom as they work towards their educational goals. Every time a student begins to understand a concept they had difficulty with my heart soars.
