About Leigh Ann
This year marks my 12th year in public education. Throughout my tenure, I have taught a variety of courses: English II, English III, College Readiness, ACT English Prep, and ACT Reading Prep. My passion for my content was only exceeded by passion for children. This desire to ensure the best education for all students in every classroom lead me to administration. After one year as a middle school administrator, I recognized quickly how much I missed my content. While I still had meaningful encounters with students, things were not the same. I yearned for the past moments of watching students grow as readers, writers, and thinkers. Longing to reconnect with my content, I accepted a new role as a School-Based Instructional Specialist in English Language Arts. The career move was certainly the right one. I now get to support English teachers in becoming master teachers, thus ensuring that every student in our school receives a top-notch English/Language Arts experience. Even better, I get to work directly with students again, something that brings me both purpose and joy.
I am excited to serve in this tutor capacity so that I can share my knowledge of and love for my content with even more students. When it comes to all-things reading and writing, look no further. I am confident in my ability to strengthen your skillset and to provide a deeper understanding of the content. I look forward to the gains that we stand to make together.

Communication is key so that I can start building a relationship with the student. In order to best meet the student's needs, I have to understand the student's struggles and learning styles. Ultimately, every good teacher adapts to personalize instruction for each student.
