About Lisa

I have been teaching English at the high school level for 13 years. I teach honors level courses as well as Creative Writing. I am also an adjunct professor at RCGC and have been teaching there for the past four years. I have a Masters in Writing from Rowan University in which I obtained a 4.0 in that program. I have worked with students in various populations from special education to high functioning. I recognize a student’s level and help that student move beyond his or her current writing and reading skill set. I am well versed in what a student needs both at the high school and college level.

I obtained a bachelors degree at Rider University in Secondary Education and English. I always wanted to teach at the secondary level.

I have 13 years of teaching experience at the secondary level and four years at the post secondary level.

About the lesson

First, I like to meet with a student and find out the areas of reading and writing he/she struggles with most. I then assess their needs and give them the tools to succeed in those areas.

I have worked with students in all populations.

I would tell a student to hire a teacher who understands the struggles within this specific area of content and is willing to work with you on whatever skills you need to improve upon.
