About Niamh

I am an experienced tutor and have taught many students previously who have achieved their best grades and higher. I have experience working with SLN children and children between the ages of 7 and 16. With my experience of teaching in the past, I enjoy supporting and helping my students push themselves out their academic comfort zones in a supported and enjoyable environment. I construct each lesson to the individual to ensure understanding and confidence in their work and achievements.

About the lesson

I am an experienced tutor who supports children to achieve their full potential for all ages. I encourage the children I work with to step outside their comfort zone in a supported environment where they feel relaxed to explore English. During my time as a tutor I have had experience working with SLN children and have experience in meeting their specific needs. My previous students have achieved high GCSE grades and have improved their grades by at least 2 grade boundaries in their exams, homework and classwork. This is primarily due to my individual approach to teaching, allowing any preferred or specific teaching methods to be taken into account and met as best as possible, to ensure the best for the student. I take time to tailor each lesson to each student, providing practice exams, essays, presentations and homework to allow full understanding in how to analyse and extracts, use the correct methodology and achieve high grades. Additionally, my approach in regards to homework is also flexible, allowing any extraneous variables that may impact homework to be taken into consideration, therefore, homework is optional and down to the student and their families to decide what is best. My lessons are typically an hour long, however this can always be reconsidered or changed if necessary, and aimed for children between the ages of 5-16, teaching for general support in classes, SATs or GCSEs.
