About Olivia
I have tutored in English since 2006. In 2006-2007, I lived in the north of France and taught several English classes in a French high school. Upon return, I went to graduate film school and received an MFA in film production. I have tutored on and off since then. In today's stay-at-home environment, it seems right that I should offer my tutoring services again. I love writing and the English language, and would love to share that passion with you or your children.
I started tutoring in 2006 as a way to make extra money. I liked it so much, that I moved to France that same year to teach English in a French high school. It was a great experience! Watching a student's face light up when he/she understands a new concept is so rewarding.
I have a Master of Fine Arts and years of experience in teaching and tutoring.

About the lesson

The first lesson is introductions and gauging the help needed from the student with an intitial lesson if there is time. From there, I will develop a lesson plan in accordance with the student's needs.
I have tutored students of all ages, genders, and races. My experience teaching in France was with high schoolers.
It's important to find a tutor who:
1) Is a personality fit.
2) Has experience tutoring/teaching.
3) Takes the time to identify the student's strengths and areas in which he/she/they may need help.
4) Comes up with a lesson plan that works at a pace that is comfortable for the student.

Lessons are $28 for 50 minutes of instruction.
