About Robert

I love engaging with the personal passions of students and finding ways of incorporating their interests with their studies. One of my favorite things about "Hamilton" was its ability to synthesize substantial "textbook facts" into a cohesive piece of entertainment - one that not only kept audiences invested, but simulataneously educated people of all ages through providing a different method of expression to those facts. I seek to do the same with those I work with - finding connections and drawing parallels to the passions of others in a manner that will allow them to apporach their studies differently.

I love the moment where a student begins to understand a subject in a way that speaks to them rather to the interests of others. While certain assignments require a specific fulfillment of standards, games, activities or alternative approaches can help provide everyone their "eureka" moment.

About the lesson

I take deliberate care to learn about their personal passions - what speaks to them outside of their intended area of study. I firmly believe that within the right context or approach, any subject can be made interesting to a student. It's about providing the best possible lens with which to view a supposed "requirement. If you can turn an exercise into an activity related to a student's interest, you can guarantee more fun and interest will be had.
