About Alexis

Without the use of online services, I have always had a passion for and desire to tutor! I first started when I was a freshman in high school, teaching middle school students the basics of English. I continued to do so continually through my sophomore year of college. As a senior, and soon to be graduate, it has become something that I truly miss, and as an English major, I hope to rekindle my tutoring prior to becoming a full-time high school English teacher! I am very passionate about all aspects of English! Whether it be reading the classics or reading in general or helping others to better understand what they read and the basics of the English language, I have a deep passion to share what I know of the English language with others.

I deeply enjoy just helping others learn! I know the struggles of not fully understanding a concept and finding it difficult to reach out for help. I want to help anyone that is interested in growing their understanding feel comfortable enough to do so.

I got started early in high school once I realized that I could help others around me better understand our English material.

When I was in high school and early college, I tutored many English students ranging from early middle school to late high school. I am currently a senior in college for a Bachelors degree in English and Writing. I plan to teach once starting my masters.

I like to take a little bit of time to assess where the students strengths and weaknesses fall within the subject, then I like to craft a plan to strengthen the weaknesses and increase the strengths as well!

I have worked with many students types over the years. I have worked with kinetic learners, audio learners, and visual learners, as well as working with a couple of dyslexic students or students that had a limited understanding of reading comprehension.

I would advise a student searching for a teacher to find someone that they really connect with, and someone that they feel can fully understand their needs and tailor their plans to better help the student grow and achieve their goals.
