About Jennifer

I am currently a special education teacher at a public school district in New Jersey. My specific title is an elementary pull-out resource teacher, meaning I work with elementary school students with IEPs who are pulled from their general education classroom to work with me in reading, writing, and math. I develop instruction that directly addresses my students' IEP goals while also providing for fun and meaningful learning experiences. I have experience with developing and implementing explicit, multi-sensory phonics instruction to help beginning readers develop essential decoding skills. I also embrace the purposeful use of technology (especially with the recent transition into virtual learning), being well-versed in the use of Google platforms such as Google Classroom, Google Docs, and Google Slides. I have also been able to implement instruction to students virtually through Zoom. I am also certified to teach general education students in grades K-6.

I have a graduate degree, specifically Master in Arts of Teaching (for Special Education & Elementary Education) from The College of New Jersey. I also have a bachelor's degree in English from The College of New Jersey.
