About Bethani
I am one year away from becoming an elementary education teacher, so my knowledge is fresh in my brain. I have completed internships from kindergarten through 8th grade, so I have real world experience with the students and content of all elementary and middle grade levels. I believe strongly in connecting with students in order to understand them and better push them to succeed with tools personalized to their needs.
What I enjoy most about the work that I do is to simply see how far a student can push his or herself. What I have noticed in my experience is that when students are given more than just the content tools that they need, such as inspiration and tools to think both critically and creatively, they tend to progress on their own. Being the person that students look up to and connect to makes all the difference!

My typical process when working with a new student is to do a few quick assessments in order to gauge where he or she is in the specific areas that we will be working in. These assessments are both educational and personal so I not only can see where he or she stands with the content, but I can also get a better understanding of the student as a person to better relate to him or her.
