About Molly

Molly has recently moved to Michigan from Florida, and is teaching special education at a local elementary school. Her prior experience includes four years of teaching middle school Reading/ Language Arts, three years of teaching high school English, one year of teaching high school special education, and two years of teaching elementary school special education.

Molly also has experience as a youth center director, a summer camp head counselor, and a mom of four. She has recently earned her master's degree in Special Education from Oakland University. Her master's degree paired with her experience as an educator, has developed Molly into a knowledgeable, creative, and effective teacher.

All in all, Molly has a passion for learning, for kids, and for having fun! Her energetic personality, experience at all levels and in a variety of environments, makes Molly a great candidiate for tutoring.

Molly's passion is teaching; it is not just a job for her. Her favorite part of teaching is figuring out how a child/ young adult learns best and utilizing that to benefit of the student. She wants nothing more than to see her students succeed and feel proud of their accomplishments!

I have been teaching for over 15 years. I have taught at every level of education, including teaching GED classes and high school and elementary school special education. The bulk of my teaching experience has been in the area of English/ Language Arts.

My experiences in tutoring are also diverse. I have taught in group homes, with exchange students, elementary students, and middle and high school students.

About the lesson

My first step is to have a short diagnostic meeting to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the student.

After that, I would make a recommendation to the parent(s) communicating what I feel would be best for their child/ young adult.

After discussing the child's needs with the parents, I would meet with the child/ young adult to set goals and get to know him/her.

Then, we meet and learn. :)
