About Madison
My name is Madison Brooks, and I am a student at Belmont University currently completing my undergraduate degree in psychology and elementary education. During this unprecendented time of remote learning for students of all ages, I am passionate about helping overworked parents engage their children in the new ways of education. I have worked with students ranging from Pre-K to 8th grade in various subjects and various capacities; creating lesson plans, providing one-on-one tutoring, giving extra academic and emotional supports to students who need it, managing multiple students at a time, and creating fun and innovative ways of learning. In attempt at increasing health and safety, my tutoring is only offered online. However, I will work with your student's needs to try to make online learning as personalized and engaging as it can be.
I have worked with students of all ages creating lessons and providing homework help throughout my entire high school and college career. Additionally, I am currently working on my Master's in elementary education.

Identifying an individual student's needs is always the first step. A fun get-to-know-you game, learning about the student's interests, then asking specifically what they need help with makes for a more beneficial tutoring session.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Before the first tutoring session, a student should consider:
- specific concepts they struggle with
- subjects they do not enjoy
- subjects they do enjoy
- their favorite way to learn; listening to someone tell them about a concept, building physical objects, writing out step-by-step plans, solving equations, reading instructions, etc.
- any problems they consistently have while learning; paying attention, writing, listening, mixing up numbers & letters, etc.
