About Dante

I'll be focused not only on making sure the student has the ability to complete their assignments and the tasks set out for them, but also that they begin to acquire the ability to express themselves fully in language.

I love getting to help students improve their writing and critical thinking skills, and seeing how they express themselves on the page. It's always a great joy when a student discovers a part of themselves — and their capabilities — in language after working together.

I've been working as a freelance editor for the past year and have also been published as a writer in both poetry and prose. You can find some of my work in Sheila-Na-Gig Online, Blue Marble Review, and New Note Poetry. I've also taken several courses that students may want help with, including AP English Language and Composition, AP English Literature and Composition, Ap Seminar, AP Research, APUSH, and others. With experience as both an academic tutor and a private music teacher, I'm very comfortable in 1-on-1 sessions with students.

About the lesson

I spend a brief period of time getting to know them and their situation with regards to the subject at hand (experience, current class (if any), expectations, etc...). Once I feel that I've got information we get right to work on helping the student to improve from whatever level they are at.
