About Nelson
It is one thing to teach native english speakers, but it is a whole new ball game when dealing with non-native speakers. I have been teaching grammar for over 12 years and of all the many wonderful experiences I've had, I can tell you nothing beats the excitement and satisfaction to see my former students making it so far in the world, a lot of them do so overseas, making my time in the classroom with them so valuable.
I started working at a small school where I taught students from fourth to tenth grade.
I have been a Grammar teacher for 10 years at one of the major bilingual schools in my country.

I like to start with a diagnostic. I do both a written and oral evaluation. I also like to create a bond from the start and make the student comfortable to ask any questions when needed.
Fewer native english speakers than bilingual students, mostly hispanics.
I would suggest the student to request background information and, if possible, request an online meeting first.
During quarantined, my wife, kids and I decided to have a formal friday. We all dressed up and played fancy music during dinner. There was time for pictures, prayer, laughter and good food. It was my highlight of the year.
