About Alexis
Hi, my name is Alexis Castillo and I am currently a senior in college. I major in political science and minor in English. I have a passion for English, as well as plenty of experience. I have taken creative writing, poetry, and advanced English classes throughout my entire career. I have volunteered to tutor for summer programs. I am also fluent in Spanish in reading and writing.
I began teaching by helping my friends with their English homework and essays. I have been the go-to English friend since my freshman year of high school.
I am a minor in English, which requires 18 credit hours of English, 12 of which are upper-level courses. I am on my last 3 hours of the semester. In high school, I took all the advanced English courses necessary. Lastly, I peer edit and review essays from friends that need help and therefore I am very good at helping people with the English subject.

I usually begin with exercises that will allow me to know what the student is having trouble with. This includes reading past essays or homework assignments and helping them edit them, as well as teaching them the correct format.
I have worked with elementary and middle school students, as well as high school and college friends.

Since I do not have a professional degree in the subject, I would charge $25 an hour. However, I can be flexible with prices depending on the skill and the amount of material being taught.
