About Brittany

I am a college graduate with my B.S. in Business Law from the David Nazarian college of Business and Economics at California State University Northridge. This major was extremely writing intensive with focuses in technical and logical argumentation writing skills. I believe it is my best skill as a student and writing feels effortless. This skill will translate my goals to become a lawyer. I am a J.D candidate preparing to attend Law School in Fall 2021. I am also able to tutor those that have learning disabilities.

I have a passion for writing that has blossomed throughout my time as a college student. I enjoy teaching and I have always helped students around me by tutoring. I specifically would love to tutor those with learning disabilities. I have personally struggled with learning disabilities, so I understand students struggles with coping with the way their brain works.

When I was in High School, I was unable to write and just felt hopeless. My senior year of high school I had a teacher who saw my potential and personally worked with me hours on end to ignite my passion for writing and teach me skills that I have used to achieve A’s on every single essay or paper I have done during my undergraduate. It took me fifteen years, but I finally realize that my learning disability is not a hindrance. It allows me to see things from different perspectives on any given situation. It is a gift, and I am grateful to have the tools to succeed. I want to give students the same skills by tutoring them. I want to be that teacher that can help students master writing and aid in boosting student's confidence to succeed in anything they do.

About the lesson

Prior to scheduling sessions, I will to meet with the student and/or parent(s) to build a specialized plan of action. I will also like to discuss the current affairs as well as desired results. We will set long term goals that will be broken down into “mini” goals in order to accomplish desire results. This is to raise confidence levels as the student will feel a sense of accomplishment and growth. I can adjust my tutoring to any need and focus that the student needs. This plan depends on the immediate needs of the student, but many plans include some sort of accommodation for weekly or monthly communication in order to track progress.
