About Angelisse
My mother was always in the education field and I grew up observing her. Ever since I was little, I remember lining up my stuffed animals and little siblings to teach them lessons I've learned. Formally, I started in one of my mother's schools as a VPK teacher and I just got hooked!
I've taught STEAM courses for VPK, elementary, and middle school for a year.
I've interned with a literary agency and completed freelance work for over a year (and still going!)
I also create my own courses and teach K-12 on Outschool in unique topics that fall under the Humanities, History, and English umbrellas.

I like to get to know the student first through their interests and hobbies. I feel as though this gives me a better grasp of how to teach my lessons in a way that not only is understandable, but is fun!
I have done VPK-Middle in person, and K-12 online.
I've also done tutoring for special needs children.
Find a teacher who loves what they do and is passionate about the subject! You want that excitement to carry on to you! If they're not excited to read, then how will it help you get excited to do the same?
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
You should think about your learning style first and foremost- are you a visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learner?
You should also be sure to document EVERYTHING you already know about the subject so we know exactly where to jump in to help. Writing everything down will also bring to surface some topics you didn't even know you knew!
Think about how the subject you're having issues with relates to you. Try to make some real life connections and figure out why its important.
Finally, think a little bit about why you think you might be having problems with that specific area.
