About Shelia
I wanted to teach since the first grade. My 1dst and 3rd grade teachers inspired me. I never wanted to do anything different. I start my 21st year in the Fall.
I have a Professional English Certification
I have a Reading Endorsement
I have an ESOL Endorsement and the required 300 ESOL state required hours
I am TOEFL certified
I have a Masters in Literacy also

My typical process when I work with a new student is to give him or her a Diagnostic test to see how he or she utilizes prior knowledge. I then review the results and tailor lessons around the outcomes.
I have worked with At - Risk students, 504, ELL, ESOL, IEP, Asbergers, mild Dyslexia, and Gifted students
I would say go with a teacher and business owner who is Certified, well-versed meaning he or she has worked with a variety of students and with a person who is looking to increase reading and English levels. (Search out a person like me)
A recent event that I am fond of is when I was able to see increase levels in several students that I recently worked with.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I would say the student can think through the Who, What, When, Where, Why and How scenarios. This will give the student and teacher opportunities to review all situations and they can opt in to look for plausible solutions.
