About Skylar
I'm good at connecting with others, and I'm creative when it comes to how best to assist my student in their problematic classes.
I really enjoy teaching others and helping them learn -- it's for this reason I was considering getting my degree in education for a period of time. It brings me satisfaction when I see a student improving in a subject and working to get better.
I'm an AP/Honors student at ACP Erie, with a 4.0 GPA for all four years of high school. Every summer, I've worked at my local library and theater company with young children, so I've. gained a significant amount of experience on how to work with children.

First, I negotiate working hours -- how long will you require assistance (semester, quarter, etc.)? Secondly, I ask the student what exactly it is they're struggling with and why. I need to understand if I'm working with someone with a lack of work ethic, or someone who genuinely doesn't understand the topic. Finally, I lay out a game plan with the student for how to go about improvement.
