About Tammie
I am in my 28th year of teaching. I have taught 1st and 3rd grades and Reading Recovery. I specialize in reading but can work with elementary students in any area or even just homework help.
I am a certified general education teacher; ESL certified, Reading Recovery certified. I have spent the last 14 years working extensively with special education students.
I love teaching kids to love learning! Knowledge is power!
I love helping kids learn to love reading. I want to help them feel confident and excited about learning.
I went to college knowing I loved working with kids. I still enjoy it after all these years.
I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from UNT with an emphasis on reading. I am certified to teach grades 1-8, hold an ESL certification as well as a certification for gifted and talented. I have worked extensively with dyslexic and special education students.

I like to jump right in and offer suppprt with school work. I am also able to find a student's guided reading level and select books for me to work with the child on.
I have worked with elementary -aged mostly. Most of my students are struggling learners, dyslexic, and/or special education.
