About Kate

My love for literature began as a very young child. Each night my parents would read me bed times stories, sometimes short stories and other times long novels, and I found myself lost in the stories. My overactive imagination has been nourished by the written word, and it is now my passion to help others discover the magic of the written word for themselves.

I have been tutoring high school and elementary school student in English Language Arts and English Literature throughout my four years in college.

I love seeing my students grasp concepts which they previously struggled with, and discover a love for reading and writing! I love to see students succeed and bring up their grades in the classes they're struggling with.

I began tutoring students four years ago. I was inspired by one of my own teachers who cared deeply for all of his students, and instilled within me a passion for writing and literature.

About the lesson

I like to get to know my students on an individual basis, and understand what their learning style is. I also believe it is essential to boost student's confidence, particularly when they are struggling. Everyone is capable of being successful in school, it just requires the right teacher!

I have worked with students who just needed a bit of extra help with a specific issue, as well as students who needed intensive help with readings, writing, or a particular exam.

I have worked with elementary and high school students.

I have worked with college students with writing papers.

I can work with students who need help with English as a second language.
