About Terrence

I am a Brooklyn College adjunct professor with over 5 years of experience teaching English to students over a wide spectrum of ages, abilities, and backgrounds.

I enjoy sharing my passion for reading, writing, and learning in a fun, engaging, and accessible way.

I have 4 years of ESL tutoring experience, beginning during my time at Phillips Academy Andover. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Creative Writing from Bard College, and I am currently pursuing an MFA at Brooklyn College. I served as a City Year New York Corps Member, and I worked as a Youth Educator at Sixth Street Community Center for 3 years.

About the lesson

I try to get a complete breakdown of the class or project the student is working on, including syllabi for the class, teacher remarks, and students goals. I explain my work process, and availability, and try to jump into the work as soon as possibly.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should consider what they personally find to be their strengths and weaknesses, and bring those concerns to teachers. They should know what they want to get out of tutoring, which would help in the creation of shared tutoring goals.
