About Ellie
I am a full time teacher in a prestigious district in New York State. I teach English as a Second Language to middle school students as well as elementary students. I also tutor for many years all kinds of learners.
I hold a Master's Degree plus 30 credits above my masters degree in TESOL. I am TESOL certified in NYS and I also hold a provisional English Literature License. I enjoy what I do and I love working with young children/teenagers.
I hold a Master's Degree from Adelphi University and I also have taken over 30 credits in New York States Universities in many classes ranging from phonics instruction to reading disabilities.

I usually meet the student by phone or zoom and I try to see what he or she likes to do in their free time. I then ask them what is the thing they find difficult in school or what they need to work on some more. Usually, children will be honest as long as they don't feel like you are judging them or treating them like they are not your equal.
