About Christina
I have been a hight school and College English and Writing tutor. I also have two children—now in college whom I helped with assignments throughout their K-12 years. I love working one on one!
I have a BA, MA, and ABD in Art History. As a result, I have studied history, visual arts, and religion. Combined with my own studies, I have taken multiple Professional Development Workshops and Conferences. While at Pingree School, I initiated, coordinated and led a Learning Commons Conference to highlight how integrated spaces encourages student collaboration and willingness to approach Faculty and Staff when they had questions or sought more indepth help. About the lesson

I first ask students about how their day is going, hoping to get a glimpse into their personality and their point of view about school. I then move on to asking the student to describe the assignment they are working on and for whom they are reading and/or writing (which often becomes an ice breaker for letting them tell me more about the given teacher and class). When presenting what they are working on, I also get a glimpse into their knowledge of what is being asked of them. If they cannot explain the assignment, I ask them to share the assignment with me and clarify as needed what indeed they are being asked to fulfill Those steps covered, we move on to the tutoring task at hand.
