About Kevin
I began teaching art and English 30 years ago and after a year moved to California where I worked in marketing for 28 years.
Last year I substituted for elementary and secondary school teacher in the South Bay Area.
I do have a LinkedIn profile, although it is for technology marketing, at (concealed information)
I also have a portfolio of marketing design and writing at (concealed information)
I enjoy helping students find enjoyment and and self worth in academic accomplishment. Helping a person to experience pride in achieving goals is exptremely rewarding to me.
I like to get to know a student well enough to understand why they are having challenges with subject matter and then develop a plan to help them overcome those challenges in a way that keeps them motivated.
Teaching in Albuquerque, N.M school system, managing and mentoring employees in companies for 25 years, and substitute teaching in San Jose, CA for one year.

1. Start with an intro session to establish goals and explain how I will work with student. I also like to get commitment from student to put in the work to achieve desired goals.
2. Provide student with (flexible) lesson plan to achieve goals. Include regular tests/quizzes to be sure student is retaining lesson content.
3. Each session starts with outline of what we will go over during session, go over assignment from previous session (if applicable), teach new material, review key points of lesson. Answer questions about content. Check with student to be sure manner of teaching is working for him/her.
End lesson with assignment if applicable.
