About Breakfast

I love music and languages and have decades of experience playing and teaching. Most recently, I taught at Converse International School of Languages in San Francisco for nine years, and I currently teach early childhood music classes at Music Together.

I have a degree in music and a certificate to teach English as a Second Language. In addition, I have an intermediate level of Spanish, Japanese, and Moroccan Arabic, and can tutor most subjects at the high school level.

Education is the most common job in my family, so teaching is a pretty natural fit for me.

I have a TESOL certificate (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and I have over ten years' experience teaching English in schools around the world. In addition, I have taught high school Spanish and Japanese, and I currently tutor someone in Moroccan Arabic.

I have a Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music. I have over 30 years' performance experience, and I have taught many students along the way. I can teach piano, sax, guitar, ukulele, music theory, and North Indian classical vocal.

About the lesson

In the first lesson I assess the student's needs and interests and craft subsequent lessons accordingly.

For the last nine years, I have taught mostly adults from around the world. I have also taught elementary and middle school students in Japan and France, middle and high school students in California, and teens and adults in Morocco.

Most of my music students now are babies and their parents, and I've given music lessons to students of all ages over the years.

Details

My standard rate is $60/hour or $40/half-hour. However, I'm open to negotiating, especially if you intend to study with me long-term.
