About Shekeita
I have a true passion for teaching and learning. I believe that all students are capable of learning and growing. I have taught for over 10 years. I have Certification in K-6 in ELA and Math with K-12 certification in general Science and Social Studies. I am a Certified Counselor for K-12 and have a Certified Adminstration License for K-12. I can truly say that I love what I do! I believe learning should be engaging and challenge each child to grow academically. I have received the Outstanding Service Award in 2019, was nominated as a Golden Apple Teacher of the year in 2012, a runner up to the teacher of the year at my school, and presented an award for my role in the 2019 MAAP assessment. My students came to me with a 26% Proficiency and ended the year with a 41 percent Proficiency in ELA. Out of 25 students 21 of my bottom 25 grew one to four levels on the MAAP assessment due to hardwork. I go above and beyond all that I do. I have taught grades 3-5th.
I started teaching because I want to make a difference in the lives of my students and to may a life long impact in their lives.
I have a Bachelor's in Elementary Education, a Master's in School Counseling, and Specialist in Administration. I have been in education for over 10 years.

I require parents to sign a contract before services are rendered for your child or children. The contract will have the days and times I will tutor your child.
I have worked with students from ages 8-14.
I would suggest choosing someone who has your best interest in mind and push you to reach your full potential.
It gave me great pleasure to see my low performing students grow to the level that they obtained. I was able to see the growth from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. Seeing the smiles made all the hard work worth it!
