About Christian

My service stands out because not only do I enjoy teaching any subject, I enjoy the journey of it. Seeing a kid fail at a problem makes me help them along the way, almost like hiking a mountain. I enjoy beginning with a problem and ending it in an enjoyable way.

I enjoy seeing kids succeed in school, or giving them the best possible care. I really enjoy walking through problems with kids so they can understand and grasp the problem. I also enjoy it when kids are actually happy to work on problems.

I started to get into teaching at the age of six. I would play school at home with my little siblings because of how much I enjoyed it. I had such a passion for it that I would create lesson plans for them. When I started to get into middle school, I would start to bring school lessons home. I would educate my family about what I learned in school whether it would be health or English. By the time I reached high school, I started to tutor my relatives and I had the biggest passion for it. Now, I'm heading towards my first year of college and majoring in elementary education.

I have been family tutoring for about three years now, and I also have been babysitting and providing care for family friends for a little over two years. I have also volunteered at children's libraries and have read books to elementary school children.

About the lesson

My typical process for working with a new student is I like to build a bond first. I really want to get to know my student and what they're interests are before diving into academics. I need to get to know them on a personal level so that they not only are comfortable but excited. I also like to see how they answer questions and how they work with assignments.

I have worked mainly with kids who are in elementary school (1-6).

An even I have recently been fond of is when my cousin was struggling with a math problem that consisted of addition. She didn't know how to start, so I had provided a certain scenario that would get her to start the problem, and it worked so well for her that she got every answer right after that. I think that having a creative mind when solving problems really helps sometimes.
