About Lucy
As a young learner, I deeply struggled with most subjects, and was able to turn a corner and overcome these difficulties by finding what varying learning curves worked for me: this is something I can work towards with any student as well.
I love making people turn frustrations into productivity. I know how hard facing the unknown, or difficult tasks can be, but they are truly so rewarding. I also love being able to support people to get where they need to go!
I am a student taking a gap year due to coronavirus, however, I was a two year AP english student and graduated with a 4.7 GPA at top 1% of my class. I did a lot of volunteer and peer tutoring throughout high school.

As someone who deeply struggled with dyslexia and finding what worked for me as a student, I always begin my mode of teaching new students under the guidlines that we all learn differently. Once I am able to accomodate what will work for any given student, we can together build into a deeper understanding of our work and subject and grow together. I struggled a lot in early middle and high school, only to go on to being an AP student at the top of my class. No subject is too difficult when someone is willing to help you figure out what will work for you learning wise.
I have worked with special ED students through volunteering, as well as many young close knit families in a system of babysitting/nannying paired with tutoring especially given our current conditions of the pandemic.
Be ready, and not afraid to let them know what works for you, what confuses you, or anything else that can leave you frustrated or upset. This is key in getting to a place where a subject is more benefitial and pleasant for you.
